Get noticed – Market yourself! 3 HOT TIPS to get you started!
The days of being bashful and shy about sharing your experiences and knowledge online, are well and truly over. You need to showcase your talent.
Your online footprint is an integral part of your identity, and most employers check your public activity at some point in the recruitment process. Just how well do you come across?
Here are 3 hot tips:
TIP 1- To get noticed, you need to demonstrate that you work hard. Share posts with any awards, feedback, testimonials of the good work you have done. My mother often said, “anyone can stand in the corner and be a wall flower!” – you may need to step out of your comfort zone and share! This could include information about how you help others, go above and beyond as this will highlighting what makes you different! If you are doing a good job and over delivering, politely ask your customer or colleague to write a short comment – add this to your online profile!
TIP 2 - Take the time to create and share content! You could discuss your experiences, market observations or what you have recently learnt. Sharing through blogs, vlogs or posts will raise your profile and help you get noticed. It is a fundamental part of business today, you simply need to be comfortable with expressing your views, online. Some of our offices have been incredibly successful using these communication channels to their advantage.
Check out Peter Wharton, our managing partner from the office in Switzerland, he regularly shares his insights into changes in the industry. Our office in Belgium of Pierre Dagneau, has attracted high levels of interest from his recent appearance on a business TV channel. And, another great example is, Michael Germershausen, our Managing Director of the Eurasian Region, who has a natural talent for sharing his personal views on developments across the region in an engaging and professional manner. There are plenty of examples of how to get started, just monitor and review posts which catch your eye and have high levels of traffic!
TIP 3 - Once you have the content online, take the time to exchange with each person that takes their time to respond to this through a comment! Reach out to them, acknowledge their feedback and personalise a response to them. This is easy to do on social media. By engaging with your audience, you will gain credibility and develop relationships.
We give advice and support to all our offices, easing them into the concept of self-promotion. If you would like more information on this topic or in how you can be part of the Antal Network of offices, why not contact us for more information on [email protected].
