Hiring a CFO for an African Reinsurer

  • In partnership with our client, we developed a detailed candidate profile through extensive discussions and created a comprehensive role description.
  • We cast a wide net in our search, initially identifying a long list of thirty potential candidates.

  • Through meticulous evaluation and consultation with the hiring team, we narrowed this list down to the top five prospects, each undergoing thorough vetting and interviews.

 

Solution

 

We, working in close partnership with the reinsurer, embarked on a meticulous search process. A detailed candidate profile was developed through extensive discussions to ensure the ideal candidate was identified. A wide net was cast, resulting in a longlist of potential candidates that were rigorously evaluated. Through a thorough assessment process, including interviews and in-depth discussions, the list was narrowed down to five highly qualified prospects. Despite the incoming CFO's initial three-month notice period, we facilitated negotiations, resulting in a quicker commencement date. This was crucial as the position was vacant, creating an urgent need for leadership. The newly appointed CFO quickly integrated into the company, providing strategic guidance on financial restructuring and cost optimization. Their contributions have proven instrumental in steering the company through challenges and setting the stage for sustained growth.
