The Assistant Manager - Supplier Quality is responsible for overseeing and improving the quality of products supplied by external vendors. This role involves developing quality assurance strategies, conducting audits, and collaborating closely with suppliers to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:-
- Supplier Quality Improvement & Management
- Develop and implement supplier quality management processes and procedures.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics and conduct regular reviews.
- Work cross-functionally with procurement, engineering, and production teams to address quality concerns.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Provide training and support to suppliers on quality standards and best practices.
- Maintain documentation related to supplier quality assessments and audits.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes impacting supplier quality.
- All incoming parts to have STU status.
Required Candidate profile:-
- 10-12 years’ experience
- B.E. Mechanical
- Experience in handling small suppliers
- Knowledge & experience of CQI-19 Audit
- Certified auditor for CQI-9, CQI-11, CQI-19 (optional)
- Knowledge of fastener processes like Forging, Machining, Heat Treatment, Plating, etc.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build relationships with suppliers
- Negotiation skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies.
