The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with relevant government authorities and ensuring compliance with local regulations and requirements in Abu Dhabi for various engineering and architectural projects. This role requires an individual with a strong background in architecture or engineering, coupled with extensive knowledge of Abu Dhabi’s regulatory landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all projects comply with Abu Dhabi’s regulatory requirements, including building codes, safety standards, environmental laws, and zoning regulations.
- Liaison with Authorities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and relevant local authorities, including Abu Dhabi Municipality, Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities (DPM), and Civil Defense.
- Permits & Approvals:
- Manage the submission process for permits, approvals, and clearances, including design approvals, building permits, and infrastructure approvals.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare and submit required documentation to authorities, maintain comprehensive records of communications, and provide regular updates on the status of approvals to project teams.
- Technical Support:
- Offer technical guidance to internal teams regarding local codes and regulations to ensure compliance during the design and construction phases.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with project teams, contractors, consultants, and authorities to address issues related to regulatory compliance and approval processes.
- Site Inspections:
- Coordinate and support inspections conducted by local authorities, ensuring compliance with approved plans and regulations.
- Regulation Updates:
- Stay informed about changes to local laws, regulations, and standards, and communicate these updates to internal teams to ensure ongoing compliance.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with specific experience working with relevant authorities in Abu Dhabi.
- In-depth knowledge of Abu Dhabi’s building codes, regulations, and authority requirements.
- Strong understanding of the construction and design process, from concept to completion.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for effective liaison with government authorities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English (preferred).
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in large-scale architectural or civil engineering projects in Abu Dhabi.
- Proven track record of successfully obtaining permits and approvals for complex projects.
