Job Title: Authorities Liaison Engineer

Job Description:
My client is seeking a skilled and experienced Authorities Liaison Engineer to join their team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all engineering and architectural projects comply with local regulations and requirements. This role involves extensive coordination with government authorities and is best suited for professionals with a strong background in architecture or engineering and deep knowledge of Abu Dhabi’s regulatory landscape.
Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects meet Abu Dhabi's regulatory standards, including building codes, safety regulations, environmental laws, and zoning requirements.

Liaison with Authorities: Serve as the primary contact between the company and local authorities, such as Abu Dhabi Municipality, Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities (DPM), and Civil Defense.

Permits & Approvals: Manage the submission and follow-up of all documentation required to obtain permits, approvals, and clearances for various projects, such as design approvals, building permits, and infrastructure clearances.

Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and submit required documentation to authorities, maintain communication records, and provide project teams with regular updates on the status of approvals.

Technical Support: Offer technical guidance to internal teams on local codes and regulations to ensure project compliance during design and construction phases.

Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with project teams, contractors, consultants, and authorities to resolve issues related to regulatory compliance and approval processes.

Site Inspections: Coordinate and assist in inspections conducted by local authorities, ensuring that all work adheres to approved plans and regulatory requirements.

Regulation Updates: Stay informed about changes to local laws, regulations, and standards, and communicate these updates to internal teams to ensure continued compliance.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with direct experience working with relevant authorities in Abu Dhabi.
- In-depth knowledge of Abu Dhabi’s building codes, regulations, and authority requirements.
- Strong understanding of the construction and design process, from concept through completion.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for effective interaction with government authorities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in both Arabic and English (preferred).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience on large-scale architectural or civil engineering projects in Abu Dhabi.
- Proven success in obtaining permits and approvals for complex projects.
