Job Description: Category HeadWe are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our team as a Category Head. As a Category Head, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a specific category within our organization. With your expertise and leadership, you will drive the growth and success of the category by developing and implementing effective strategies.
Responsibilities:
1. Category Strategy:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive category strategy to drive business growth and achieve company objectives.
- Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of category initiatives.
2. Product Management:
- Manage the entire lifecycle of products in the category, from ideation to launch and ongoing performance optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely development and delivery of high-quality products.
- Conduct regular product reviews, gather feedback, and make data-driven decisions to enhance customer satisfaction.
3. Vendor and Supplier Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring the availability of high-quality products at competitive prices.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with existing and potential suppliers to drive cost savings and improve product assortment.
- Monitor and evaluate vendor performance, resolving any issues and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
4. Sales and Marketing:
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop effective strategies to drive category sales and market share.
- Provide guidance and support in the creation of compelling product marketing materials and campaigns.
- Analyze sales data and consumer insights to identify opportunities for improving customer acquisition and retention.
5. Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and support the team in achieving their goals.
- Identify training and development needs, and create opportunities for team members to enhance their skills.
Requirements:
1. Experience:
- 8 to 13 years of relevant experience in category management, product management, or a related field.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing effective category strategies.
- Strong experience in managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving supplier performance.
2. Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team towards achieving common goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
3. Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
