JOB SUMMARY
Lead the Microbiology department as a consultant, overseeing diagnostic testing, playing a pivotal role in providing expert guidance on complex cases, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring the delivery of high quality diagnostic care to the patients and driving research to advance the field of microbiology at our esteemed hospital.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide consultative service as requested.
- Supervise fellows, staff/assistant physicians, and residents.
- Actively participates in the training and teaching of residents and fellows in his area of expertise and participates in research activities.
- Participates in committees and other administrative functions as needed.
- Performs special procedures as privileged.
- Follows all hospital-related policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Graduate from a medical school of good standing.
- Completion of required period of training in microbiology.
- Saudi Arab or American/European Board Certification or equivalent.
- Irish, UK, Canadian, New Zealand or Australian/ Diplome d’Etudes Specialises (DES)/ CIS French Board / Facharzt & Sub-Board/Fellowship with Min. 3-4 years’ experience post-Board/Fellowship.
- Membership and/or Fellowship status in America and/or Europe or their equivalent and fulfilling the criteria for the consultant as required.
- A certificate recognized by the Saudi commission is a must.
- Dataflow is a must.
Professional Experience
- Min. 5 years Post-Board/Fellowship in Microbiology.
- A registered member of the Saudi Board Council
Language
- Proficiency in English; additional proficiency in Arabic may be beneficial.
