As an Enterprise Application Architect, your role within the architecture team is crucial in enabling the company to design and implement mission-critical applications. Your responsibilities include collaborating with various stakeholders such as business teams, project managers, and software engineers.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop complex solution architectures for mission-critical applications.
• Align solutions with strategic objectives, organization IT reference architecture, and IT ecosystem.
• Communicate architecture to various stakeholders, including business, project managers, and software engineers.
• Ensure Technology Review Board approval for application architecture.
• Collaborate with Program/Project Managers to estimate, identify dependencies, and create project plans.
• Conduct architecture impact analysis, technology assessments, and propose quality solutions.
• Define, implement, and maintain the application architecture blueprint.
• Provide guidance to the business for technology choices while considering cost-effectiveness.
• Design secure applications and packaged solutions on cloud platforms.

Desired skills

• 18 to 25 years of IT industry experience with 3+ years in Enterprise Application Architecture.
• Strong knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure.
• 10+ years of expertise in Java/J2EE tech stack
• Experience in defining and governing IT roadmaps based on reference architecture.
• Skilled in assessing architectural choices and proposing suitable solutions, including cost-benefit and SWOT analysis.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and out-of-the-box thinking abilities.
• Proficiency in simplifying complex problems and proposing practical solutions.
• Expertise in architecting secure solutions, including handling vulnerabilities like OAuth, ISAM, and Open ID.
• Experience in architecting J2EE applications is must.
• Certification or experience in TOGAF or relevant architecture methodologies is a bonus.
• Experience working with European organizations, especially in the retail sector, is a plus.
• Openness to onsite travel (Belgium).
• Good understanding of Cloud technologies is advantageous.
