Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Financial Management: a. Lead and oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities. b. Develop and implement strategies to improve finance-related processes, focusing on working capital, treasury, and investment management. c. Ensure effective management of cash flow, costs, and expenditures to guide business decisions. d. Evaluate and advise on the financial performance of the company, ensuring alignment with its strategic goals. e. Present financial reports to the senior management team and provide insights to guide decision-making.
2. Accounting and Compliance: a. Direct and oversee accounting activities, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and local laws. b. Ensure accurate and timely financial closing and reporting. c. Maintain internal controls and safeguard the company’s assets. d. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare required documentation for audits.
3. Treasury and Risk Management: a. Oversee treasury activities including cash management, loan management, and insurance management. b. Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions, securing favourable terms for financing and other financial services.
4. Budgeting and Cost Management: a. Coordinate the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts. b. Analyse variances between budget and actual performance, providing corrective measures where necessary. c. Implement initiatives to improve cost control and operational efficiencies.
5. Team Leadership and Development: a. Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure a high level of performance and engagement. b. Build the skills and capabilities of the team in line with company goals and industry best practices. JD Finance Head 2
6. Business Planning and Advisory: a. Provide consultative financial analysis and insights to other departments for planning and operational improvement. b. Lead or participate in the development of the company’s business and operational plans.
7. Technology and Systems: a. Approve and oversee the implementation of improvements in financial and management information systems. b. Leverage technology to streamline financial operations and improve data-driven decision-making.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
1. Timeliness and accuracy of financial reports. 2. Variance between actual performance vs. budget. 3. Time to achieve financial closing. 4. Cash flow management and variance from projections. 5. Effectiveness in implementing cost-saving measures and financial process improvements. 6. Internal audit findings and financial control weaknesses.
Qualifications:
A. Education: Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost Accountant (ICWA), or MBA in Finance from a reputed institution. B. Experience: Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role. C. Industry Experience: Experience in manufacturing, especially in capital-intensive industries like conveyor systems, automotive, or industrial equipment, is preferred. D. Skills: • Strong leadership, team-building, and motivational skills. • Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders. • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. • Expertise in managing cash flow, treasury, tax planning, and budgeting.
