General Manager – Manufacturing

About the Role:

A leading automotive component manufacturer is looking for an experienced General Manager to lead end-to-end plant operations with a focus on sheet metal fabrication, press shop, welding, and tool room management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all manufacturing activities including press shop, MIG/TIG/Spot/Projection welding, and tool room operations

• Drive production planning, capacity utilization, and delivery performance

• Manage maintenance and output of progressive dies and stamping tools

• Lead implementation of Lean practices, TPM, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and safety protocols

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for quality, planning, purchase, and logistics

• Support new product development and process validation

• Lead customer audits, resolve quality concerns, and ensure cost control

• Build and lead a high-performing operations team

Candidate Profile:

• Degree in Mechanical / Production / Automobile Engineering

• 15–25 years of experience in auto component manufacturing (Tier-1 or Tier-2 preferred)

• Strong expertise in sheet metal fabrication, stamping, tool room, and progressive tooling

• Experience in welding processes (MIG, TIG, Spot, Projection)

• Proven leadership in plant operations and manufacturing excellence

• Familiarity with TPM, Lean systems, 5S, SMED, and automotive quality audits
