Job Overview
The Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales within the government sector, specifically focusing on the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) and Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) domains. This role requires a strategic sales leader with a deep understanding of the government sector and unique dynamics and the ability to deliver enterprise networking and data center solutions to meet their specific needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement sales strategies tailored to the government sector, with a focus on
- BFSI and PSU domains.
- Identify and prioritize target accounts within the government sector, and develop comprehensive account plans.
- Collaborate with the OEM team to develop and maintain regular connect with OEM stakeholders for collaborative business approach.
2. Business Development
- Proactively identify new business opportunities within the BFSI and PSU sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within government agencies.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs.
3. Sales Execution
- Lead the end-to-end sales process, from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing.
- Present and demonstrate enterprise networking and data center solutions to prospective clients, articulating their value and benefits.
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and RFP/RFQ responses that meet customer requirements.
4. Account Management
- Manage and grow existing accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts to drive additional revenue.
- Regularly review account performance and develop action plans to address any issues or opportunities.
5. Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Collaborate with pre-sales, technical, and delivery teams to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Mentor and guide junior sales team members, sharing best practices and providing support as needed.
- Participate in internal strategy meetings, providing insights and feedback to shape the company and Government sales approach.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in any field.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of sales experience in the IT Sales, with a focus on enterprise networking and data centre solutions in Government vertical.
- Proven track record of success in selling to the government sector, particularly within the BFSI and PSU domains.
- Experience in managing complex sales cycles and large-scale projects.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of government procurement processes and regulations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical solutions to a non-technical audience.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
