Job Title: Head of Digital Banking – Kenya

Job Objective(s):
- Drive Sales, usage, profitability and growth of Digital Banking products for the Bank
- Ensure deployment of all Digital Banking products within the Bank
- Increase the penetration (utilization) of Bank’s Digital Banking products in the Public & Private Sector Organizations
- Scope and identify all potential Digital Banking customers in the Bank
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create and implement strategies to drive digital banking budget for the bank
- Create and implement strategies to ensure that the bank is number one within the digital banking space in terms of profitability, product innovation and product features & functionalitie
- Effectively utilize the bank’s network for the sale of digital banking products and solutions
- Ensure effective supervision of the digital banking team through regular interactions/meetings, weekly performance review with feedback, and coaching & mentoring of under-performing team members
- Ensure high level of product knowledge among staff within the bank through regular training
- Be responsible for managing the entire digital banking portfolio of the bank
- Proactively identify and escalate issues that will crop up in all digital banking relationships and follow up to ensure effective resolution of those issues
- Disseminate the bank’s digital banking strategy at all levels of staff within the bank
- Ensure all digital banking products, channels and solutions deployed are profitable
- Conduct market research of digital banking products within the market twice a year and submit recommendations for management’s approval and ensure implementation of the recommendations as approved by management
- Review performance of all digital banking products and solutions at the end of every month and come up with strategies to meet gaps/shortfalls in budget achievement
Planning
- Monthly client calling calendar and Digital Banking Product Governance meeting
- Weekly digital Product development and deployment meetings
- Weekly digital Product demos and training to clients
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Quality of Service – Performance metrics related to digital banking Channels, POS, Debit/Prepaid Cards, Mobile money etc
- Customer Service Delivery.
- Rate of Channel Penetration.
- Channel Popularity index – rating by External Auditors
Job Requirements
Education Requirements:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Additional Professional qualification (IT related) is required.
Experience
- 8 years’ experience with at least 4 years in the banking industry, or closely related industry.
- Experience on all the electronic channel applications, interfaces, protocols, hardware, and adjoining infrastructure support-know-how is a must.
Knowledge:
- Computer Competency
- Knowledge of the bank’s Core Banking Applications / OS’s, Windows, UNIX, LINUX, Solaris
- Database Administrative Skills – SQL Server, Oracle.
- Basic Programming knowledge.
- Good understanding of the bank’s business, structure, processes.
- Customer Relationship Management.
- Country Laws / International laws guiding the use of the internet.
- Policies of the Country’s Regulatory body
