Head Operations (Production, Maintenance & HSE)
Location: Pune, Reporting to MD
Client: 1000Cr turnover German MNC which is in the automobile industry and has an excellent working culture & has employee benefits which are of MNC level
Education required: Engineering graduate (mechanical/production) / MBA (operations) with 15 years of experienceThe mission of the job:
• To devise and implement processes and practices that promote higher productivity and work to satisfy customer demand. To exceed customer expectations and provide them with high-quality products WITHIN the framework of the organization's strategy and legal guidelines.
• Ensure Deliveries, quality, cost, design & development, Supplies of raw material, child components, Statutory Authorities, Equipment Suppliers/maintainersProfessional Experience:
• Must be in a leadership role for at least 7 years
• Technical understanding of manufacturing process, knowledge of product.
• Leadership, insight into customer’s needs, Coaching and MentoringTask and Responsibility:
PRODUCTION
Supervise production of goods of quality and in adequate numbers according to demand by customers, organize production in shifts, identify and resolve all bottlenecks, identify all areas that need improvement, stabilize production flows. To meet customer demands in terms of quality, cost and delivery"
PRODUCTION PLANNING/CONTROL
Understand customer requirements and convert it into daily plans, adjust plans wherever there are deviations, monitor work in progress, ensure adequate stocks of finished goods/ raw materials/ packing material and smooth flow of components, and prepare an annual budget to incorporate costs to minimize costs and delivery times.
PLANT ENGINEERING
Supervise breakdown maintenance, preventive maintenance, utilities/spares planning, prepare a budget for the maintenance department
To prevent the breakdown of machinery in the plant resulting in loss of productivityMANUFACTURING ENGINEERING
Implement capex plans, identify specifications and commission new equipment
To facilitate the smooth running of the production process"ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
To define the job description and number of people required and when they are required, select people based on interviews and recommendations, assess the skill gap of team members, develop team members through reviews, training and counseling, review their performance and give feedback and prepare development plan, foster a culture of team working across functions, communicate to the team on long term business plans of the company
To make things happen smoothly and develop the skill set of people.ANNUAL PLANNING/ STRATEGIC PLANNING
Understand stakeholder expectations and work towards realizing them by conducting manufacturing planning, manpower planning, capacity planning, setup quality, cost and delivery expectations, reviewing plans periodically against progress, and communicating plans to operations on a timely basis. To cater to future needs or surges in demands
COMPLIANCE AND MAINTAINING WORK ENVIRONMENT
Coordinate and organize inspections, address issues brought up by inspectors and work towards compliance, maintain a healthy and clean work environment, adopt practices that ensure safety of man and machine
To promote compliance and safety norms in the organizationINTER-DEPARTMENT CO-ORDINATION
To interact with marketing on customer requirements, convert them to department plans based on the company's business plan, interact with vendor development and engineering, and track implementation of engineering changes to make things happen smoothly and with coordination.
