Job Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and dynamic Operations Manager to oversee staff as well as the day-to-day operations, improve efficiency, and drive business growth. This role will focus on managing people and the retail shop’s operations, inventory, and customer service, as well as overseeing the production and delivery of the custom sports equipment business. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in retail and customization services and have a passion for sports.
Key Responsibilities
• Leadership: Manage staff and ensuring a high-performing and motivated team. Foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
• Operational Management: Oversee all daily operations for both the retail shop and customization business. Ensure smooth workflow, from customer inquiries and orders to final delivery of products.
• Inventory Control: Manage stock levels in the retail shop, ensure timely replenishment, and monitor inventory for customization projects. Work with suppliers to secure quality products at the best rates.
• Production Oversight: Coordinate with the custom sports equipment production team to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards.
• Customer Service Excellence: Drive a customer-centric approach across both businesses, ensuring exceptional customer experiences. Handle customer feedback, resolve issues, and develop strategies to enhance service.
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and meet business growth objectives.
• Budgeting and Financial Management: Track operational expenses and develop budgets to optimize profitability.
• Sales and Marketing Support: Work closely with sales and marketing to promote products and services, including any special promotions or customization options.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and maintaining proper workplace standards.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred).
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in retail, sports equipment, or customization services.
• Languages: Full professional proficiency of German, French and English
Skills
o Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
o Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
o Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
o Financial literacy with experience in budgeting and cost management.
o Knowledge of sports equipment and custom products is a plus.
Key Competencies
• Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple tasks with precision, particularly in quality control and inventory management.
• Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and handling shifting priorities.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective team and customer interactions.
• Technical Skills: Proficient with inventory management software, retail POS systems, and MS Office Suite. Knowledge of CRM software is an advantage.
