PMS Specialist (Expert in Opera and Symphony part)
A PMS Specialist is responsible for the management and optimization of the Property Management System (PMS) used by a hotel chain. This role is crucial to ensure that the PMS works efficiently and that all operations related to property management are performed without a hitch. Here are the main duties of a PMS Specialist:
• PMS Configuration and Maintenance: Installation and Configuration: Install and configure the PMS in all properties of the hotel chain.
• System Updates: Manage PMS updates and patches to ensure that the software is always up to date with the latest features and security fixes.
• Staff Training: Train hotel staff on the use of the PMS, including new features and best practices.
• Ongoing Support: Provide ongoing support to staff to resolve issues and answer questions about the use of the PMS.
• Collaboration with External Support: Collaborate with the PMS vendor's technical support to resolve complex issues and implement solutions.
• Integration with Other Systems: Integrate the PMS with other business systems, such as the online reservation management system (Booking Engine), CRM (Customer Relationship Management), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and POS (Point of Sale = Symphony).
• Data Management: Ensure data flows correctly between the PMS and other systems, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
• Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of PMS systems commonly used in the hospitality industry (e.g. Opera, Fidelio, Protel, etc.), Ability to resolve technical issues and provide IT support. Experience in system integration and data management. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and training skills.
