Job Description: Process Engineering Manager (Construction Equipment Manufacturer)

Location: Obedanahalli, Bashethalli, Bangalore

Experience: 10+ years in process engineering / manufacturing

Role Overview:

The Process Engineering Manager will be responsible for driving innovation and efficiency in manufacturing processes across plant and supplier operations. This role focuses on process development, optimization, supplier coordination, and business excellence to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and support new product introductions.

Key Responsibilities:

•            Process Development & Optimization: Implement and refine manufacturing processes for new and existing product models, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

•            M-PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) Process Implementation: Establish and manage M-PPAP to ensure production readiness for new/modified designs. Oversee approvals to meet quality standards.

•            Quality Improvement: Define and implement processes to enhance fit-and-finish, ensuring superior customer satisfaction.

•            Alternate Manufacturing Process Development: Propose cost-effective and efficient alternatives for existing processes to improve productivity and quality.

•            Supplier & Plant Coordination: Work closely with suppliers for process validation, capability improvement, and defect reduction.

•            Business Excellence Support: Drive continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, and quality management practices. Analyze KPIs and implement corrective actions.

Key Result Areas (KRAs) & KPIs:

•            KRAs: Process First-Time-Right (FTR), M-PPAP development, defect reduction, supplier quality improvement, and perceived quality enhancement.

•            KPIs: Supplier PPM reduction, M-PPAP implementation, quality system deployment, cost-effective tooling & fixture development, and achieving PIPC & PIST benchmarks.

Technical & Behavioural Competencies:

•            Technical: Expertise in fabrication, welding, machining, painting, M-PPAP, APQP, PPAP, GD&T, and process audits.

•            Behavioural: Leadership, customer focus, innovation, execution excellence, negotiation, and communication skills.

Candidate Profile:

•            Bachelor's /Master’s in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.

•            Strong knowledge of M-PPAP, torque control, and advanced manufacturing techniques.

•            Experience in supplier coordination and fit-and-finish improvements.
