Role details:
- Title / Designation: R2R Team Lead
- Reporting Manager: R2R Manager / Finance Controller
- Location: Bristol, UK
- Work Mode: Hybrid (2 days office, and 3 days WFH)
Role & responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the R2R team, overseeing daily operations and ensuring adherence to financial close timelines.
- Own the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations and financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce reporting timelines.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external audits, ensuring all required documentation is provided.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including FP&A, Tax, and Treasury, to streamline accounting processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SOX requirements, and other regulatory frameworks.
- Provide training, mentorship, and development opportunities to team members.
- Handle escalations and resolve complex accounting issues effectively.
- Support transformation projects, system migrations, and ERP implementations as required.
Candidate requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years in R2R, General Ledger Accounting, or Financial Reporting (preferably in a Shared Services or Global Business Services environment).
- Minimum 1+ year as Team Lead managing a team of 4-5 associates.
- Hands on experience in month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Must have experience in any one of accounting principles IFRS/UK GAAP.
- Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
- Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (ACCA/CIMA/CPA preferred).
