About the Platform:

• Orinocco is a workflow automation platform designed to streamline and optimize various business processes for middle-office teams. The platform incorporates a diverse technology stack, primarily Java, alongside Tibco middleware and messaging systems. It is deployed on both dedicated infrastructure and cloud environments to ensure scalability and reliability.
• Applications run in Docker and OpenShift, with additional deployment models supporting both microservices and traditional web-based architectures. While modern services are built on HTTP/REST APIs, some legacy components still operate using JMS (EMS implementation). Oracle is the preferred database management system, providing robust data storage and processing capabilities.
• The team follows an Agile (Scrum) methodology, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance backend applications, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Analyze business and technical requirements to propose effective solutions.
• Proactively suggest improvements that benefit both business users and technical teams.
• Implement changes efficiently, maintaining a short feedback loop.
• Ensure high code quality through automated testing and CI/CD practices.
• Continuously optimize system architecture and performance.
• Participate in code and design reviews, providing constructive feedback.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Support and mentor other engineers in development and testing processes.
• Translate business needs into technical designs and proof-of-concept implementations.
• Contribute to long-term strategic planning for platform evolution.
• Take ownership of the development lifecycle, with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Advocate for best practices in software engineering.
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies.
• Provide third-line support and guide second-line teams in troubleshooting and fixes.
• Write and maintain clear, detailed technical documentation.

Required Skills & Experience:

• A minimum of five years of experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in modern Java versions.
• Extensive knowledge of a widely used backend framework.
• Experience with workflow automation tools.
• Familiarity with messaging protocols and API standards.
• Hands-on experience with database management and query optimization.
• A solid understanding of security best practices, including encryption and authentication mechanisms.
• Experience working within Agile environments using version control, build automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong English communication skills.
