Brief about the Job:
The incumbent will be a part of Corporate Taxation team and will be responsible to support on all tax related matters / queries, Promoters and Promoter Holding companies and emerging businesses, support in Tax Structuring for mergers, acquisition and divestment transactions and appear before revenue authorities for tax representation, negotiations and settlements. The role needs to provide strong support to the team in handling tax compliances in India and litigations. The incumbent needs to demonstrate strong subject matter knowledge (mainly Income Tax) and high degree of project management skills to handle voluminous work and co-ordination with team members, external advisors, other functional teams and tax authorities.
Purpose of the Role:
1. Support to Corporate Office tax team on all tax related matters /queries (Direct, Indirect, and Transfer Pricing) on the group businesses, Promoters and Promoter Holding companies.
2. Support in Tax Structuring for mergers, acquisition and divestment transactions.
3. Appear before revenue authorities for tax representation, negotiations and settlements. The role needs to provide strong support to the team in handling tax compliances in India, litigations and advisory on various M&A transactions. The role need to demonstrate strong subject matter knowledge (mainly Income Tax and International tax treaties) and high degree of project management skills to handle voluminous work and co-ordination with team members, external advisors, other functional teams and tax authorities.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Assistance in review of all direct and indirect tax returns of Promoters, Promoter Holding Companies and the Group Companies.
2. Support to senior team members on strategic projects and transactions such as acquisitions, hive off, divestment etc. initiated at Corporate Office.
3. Representation before the tax authorities, wherever required. Guidance and support to tax managers of respective group companies in managing tax assessments and litigations before the appellate authorities.
4. Providing update on judicial pronouncements & legislative amendments having a bearing on the Group.
5. Ensuring proper documentation and maintenance of files.
Skills & Expertise required:
1. Qualified Chartered Accountant with 7-9 years of post-qualification experience
2. Incumbent needs to demonstrate expert knowledge of tax laws of India (mainly Income Tax Act, International tax treaties and GST Act).
3. Operational knowledge of international countries mainly UK, Netherlands, US, Singapore and Mauritius will be an advantage.
4. Should have a positive approach to appreciate the current challenges and concerns of the group companies and come up with solutions.
5. Communication skills are essential to convey views and deliberate on ideas with tax advisors and teams across the group
